
What is Knowledge in AI (Artificial Intelligence)
Knowledge in AI (Artificial Intelligence) means to have some information saved in the memory from the prior experience of something like any skills, objects or facts.

There are many ways to acquire knowledge in AI. There are huge sources available to acquire knowledge in AI. Some common sources of acquiring knowledge:
- Perception
- Reason
- scientific inquiry
- Memory
- practice
- testimony
- learning
Knowledge can also refer to the capability of understanding or experiencing a theoretical, logical or practical event. Knowledge can be formal or informal. It can be systematic or particular. Similarly knowledge can be some practical skill or expertise as well as it can be theoretical understanding.
According to the great philosopher Plato, ‘there is a distinction between knowledge and true belief’. So, somewhere the definition of knowledge is stated as ‘justified true belief’.
Types of Knowledge in AI
There are three common types of knowledge in AI. They are:
- Descriptive Knowledge: Descriptive knowledge means to have details information about some things or facts. Such as knowing the details about the World War II.
- Procedural Knowledge: Procedural knowledge means to know the process of a task. Procedural knowledge is also considered as a skills. Such as the skills of web developing.
- Acquaintance Knowledge: Acquaintance Knowledge is to know something or someone. For example, you know java programming. So, it is your acquaintance knowledge.
